One Community, One Fight

The Chillicothe Police Department is holding an event called "One Community, One Fight" June 19 through 25th. Wayne McLaughlin said it will bring together the local church community and a variety of resources to help, for example, those struggling with addiction or those who need food for their families.

"I've preached at a lot of churches and I know a lot of people, said McLaughlin, "and I know that if we work even better together than we already do then we can bring even more of a positive impact on a serious problem."

David Magill said it was an event that initially began to fight the opiate epidemic: "But there's much more addiction than just drugs going on, so we feel that this event right here with the revival part of it will be a vital part in making a change in Chillicothe."

Along with the resources and church service, the event will feature a different community speaker each night and music.

"One Community, One Fight" starts at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the steps of the Ross County Court House.
