The outdoor drama Tecumseh! opens for the season at Sugarloaf Mountain Amphitheatre, Friday.
This year's lead Ryan Reid said the cultural implications of the story drew him to the role.
"I think in the time I was at the show last year and then the time away, I've just had such a heightened appreciation for how relatable it is today and how much the story needs to be told."
Reid joined the Tecumseh! cast last season as Blue Jacket.
"It's such a beautiful group of people," said Reid. "Even just after only a season, it definitely had a sense of coming home when I stepped on the mountain for the first time this season."
Showtime is 8 p.m. Friday, June 9th, but the show runs its course through September 3rd.
