Dirt Track Tragedy at Canadaigua
The racing world was rocked Saturday night by the tragedy that claimed the life of 20 year old racer Kevin Ward, Jr. Ward left his car after a wreck with NASCAR Sprint Cup driver/car owner Tony Stewart. Ward was struck by Stewart's car while attempting to share his displeasure with Stewart. Bruce Hines, track announcer for Chillicothe's Atomic Speedway is a nationally known track announcer and gives insight to the lack of visibility of the sprint cars being used in the race and why Stewart most likely did not see Ward.
SOS Beat Cancer Boot Camp Goes AWOL
Southern Ohio Survivors Chairperson Lynn Bunstine says the group's Beat Cancer Boot Camp is heading off campus for a special event. The exercise program for cancer survivors meets regularly at 5:30pm at the Ross County YMCA, but Bunstine says August 20th, the BCBC crew is heading to Great Seal Park for hiking and meeting at Rooster's afterward.
