SOFTBALL:

Bri Dawes delivered a single to score Maddie Glendening for the Lady Cavs 5-4 win over Gallia Academy in the 7th.

The Blue Angels got the early advantage scoring three times in the 1st, but the Cavs chipped away at that lead. Chillicothe scored twice in the 1st and added single runs in the 3rd and 5th. Gallia tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the 7th, but Chillicothe got he game winner in their final at bat.

The Cavs pounded out 13 hits, led by Hayley Robinson's 3-for-3 day. Chi Smitley had a homer with two RBI's. But the Cavs needed Dawes' single to avoid extra frames.

Gallia Academy committed three errors on the day.

Chillicothe (10-3/2-4) hosts Athens in a non-conference game Tuesday at 5pm.

BASEBALL:

The Cavs suffered a heartbreaking loss Monday night after Gallia Academy scored the go ahead run in the top of the 7th inning to win 5-4.

The Blue Devils had jumped out to a 3-0 lead in their first two at batsoff of Cavs starter Austin Elliott, but the Cavs gave Elliott run support with a three spot in the home 3rd inning.

Both teams were scorelessin the 4th and 5th before breaking the ice in the 6th with a run apiece.

Gallia broke the 4-4 tie in the top of the 7th off of Hunter Bevins who allowed just one hit, but walked to batters in the inning.

The Cavs (4-8/1-4) travel to Logan Wednesday.

TENNIS:

St. Charles defeated Chillicothe 5-0. The Cavs are now 3-2 and will host Gallia Academy on Thursday.
