The Lady Cavs improved to 19-5 with a couple of non-conference wins over Athens Thursday.

Chillicothe completed a suspended game with Athens from April 16th Thursday with a 12-2 victory, and then pounded out a 14-6 win in Game 2.

Rylee Boullion got the scoring started in the regularly scheduled game when she drove home Bri Dawes in the 1st inning. Dawes reached on a hit by pitch to begin the game.

Athens answered with a run scoring on a wild pitch in the home half of the 1st and then got the go ahead run on back-to-back two out doubles in the 3rd.

After a scoreless 2nd and 3rd innings, Chillicothe scored three times in the 4th, then put together a six run 5th for a 10-2 lead. The Bulldogs got 4 runs back in their next at bat to pull with 10-6 score, but the Cavs pulled away scoring four more times for the 14-6 win. The Lady Cavs belted out 15 hits. Boullion picks up the win.

In the suspended game, the Lady Cavs got on the board in the home 1st inning, then belted out four runs in the 2nd and plated seven more in the 3rd.

Maddie Ayres held Athens to two runs on 6-hits with a pair of walks and striking out two. Athens scored its second run when Ayres’ issued her second walk of the game with the bases loaded.

Chillicothe hosts Dublin Jerome Tuesday in the Central District tournament at McVicker Field. Game time is 5:30pm.
