GIRLS SOCCER: Cavs 5, Athens 0

Samantha Watkins, Payten Davis and Lydia Kelley scored for Chillicothe while Willow Dove found the back of the net twice in Chillicothe's 5-0 win over Athens in their Sectional Semi-Final match.

"It's nice to keep a clean sheet." said coach Zach Breth. "We're starting to put things together, the girls have improved all season."

Breth said the Cavs attacked the ball well from start to finish. "We did a nice job of skipping midfield and putting pressure on their defenders."

The victory sets up a rematch with former SEOAL foe Warren, who the Cavs (8-8) fell to a couple of weeks ago, 2-1. First Kick at Warren is 5pm.

Chillicothe bounced back from losses to Waverly and Unioto Monday night in a straight sets 25-17, 25-18, 25-15 victory over Vinton County at Hatton Gym.

"I expected them (Cavs) to come in and to be very organized, ready and together... and they weren't" said coach Chelsey Jones adding "In that aspect I was a little dissapointed with how they played, however they were very scrappy, there weren't many balls that hit the floor and I saw a lot of heart and hustle" which pleased the Cavs first year coach.

Katelyn Martin led the Cavs attack with 11 kills and 5 blocks. Lauren Price had 6 kills. Anna DeGarmo recorded 26 assists and 9 straight serves with four aces. Claire Corzine and Emma Roderick both had 11 digs each.

The Cavs will travel to Athens High School Wednesday to battle the #1 seeded Bulldogs."I told my girls, upsets happen all the time if you have enough heart and enough will to win, anybody can win on any night.

First serve is 6pm.
