Chillicothe earned its 10th win of the season at the expense of the Hillsboro Indians, 52-39 in a makeup game Monday night.

The Cavalier defense forced 16 turnovers and Tommy Bolte dropped in 28 points as Chillicothe posted its fourth consecutive victory. It was the 10th straight loss for the Indians.

Chillicothe broke away from Hillsboro late in the first quarter when Bolte hit a layup off a steal with just under 2 minutes left in the period to break an 11-11 tie. The Cavs scored the next 11 points to complete a 13-0 run as the Cavs built a 24-11 lead.

Chillicothe (10-6/6-2) went up 35-18 on the first five possessions of the second half and didn’t look back.

Hillsboro (3-14/0-10) posed a small run late in the game to close the gap to 39-30, but Bolte hit a deuce and back-to-back three’s to stave off an Indians comeback.

The Cavs shot 43% (20-of-46) to Hillsboro’s 42% (15-of-36) from the field and Chillicothe committed just five turnovers on the night.

The Cavs got another 9 points from Eddie Wells, Nate Rosenbauer while Nolan Talyor and Matt Benson combined for another eight.

Zach Young led the Indians with 16 points.

Chillicothe heads to Greenfield for a Tuesday night battle with the Tigers on WBEX and Hillsboro faces SCOL leader Washington CH Tuesday in Highland County.
