A local marching band extravaganza will happen Friday morning.
Marching bands from all ten home schools of the Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center will be represented in the annual "Battle of the Bands."
That includes Ross County's Adena, Chillicothe, Huntington, Paint Valley, Southeastern, Unioto, and Zane Trace schools...and Pickaway County's Circleville, Logan Elm, and Westfall.
Each band marches once around the Career & Technology Center's building on Crouse Chapel Road, stopping three times to perform.
The winning band, voted on by Pickaway-Ross students and staff members, receives the traveling Pickaway-Ross Cup for the year. Unioto won the event last year...and will perform first, at 9:30am, September 9th.
The event is free and open to the public, and you should arrive between 8:30 and 9. The last band tentatively marches at 11:30. In the event of rain, the event will be cancelled and not rescheduled.
