Ross Grand Jury Indicts Man for Breaking Out Dog Taken by Dog Warden

The Ross County Grand Jury returned 10 of their 11 cases Friday, with only one open.

According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, on August 19th, a Sheriff's sergeant responded to a 5am alarm at the Ross County Humane Society.

A door had been forced open, and a husky dog brought in the day before by the dog warden was missing...and a witness described a man walking a dog nearby of that description.

The dog had been taken from 38-year-old Lary J. Galliher II after he was witnessed kicking his dog in the Wal-Mart parking lot. He was also cited for kicking it at the BP gas station on Bridge Street August 25th.

The charge of breaking and entering was bound over as a felony but returned as a misdemeanor. For an indictment on it, Galliher could get up to one year and $2,500 in fines.
