A Pike County man died on a motorcycle in a two-vehicle crash in Vinton County Sunday.
The Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle fatal motorcycle crash in Vinton County on US-50 near Thompson Road and milepost 7.
On September 19, 2021 at about 3:40 pm, 51 year old Shawn Urschel of Waverly was westbound on US 50 on a 2015 Yamaha FZ-09.
46-year-old Herbert Peoples of Jackson was pulling out of a private drive onto US 50 in a 2021 Jeep Wrangler.
Urschel's motorcycle struck the side of Peoples’ Jeep, and suffered serious incapacitating injuries. He was transported by Vinton County EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center near Chillicothe where he succumbed to his injuries.
Peoples did not sustain any injuries.
The Patrol was assisted on scene by the Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department and Vinton County EMS.
