Hillsboro Overcomes Chillicothe in Boys Hoops Action

Hillsboro's Indians ran their FAC record to (2-1) with a 67-57 win over Chillicothe, Friday.

In only their second game of the entire season CHS held a five point lead at halftime. However, the Indians' scoring duo of Hunter Price and Ryan Scott (along with airtight second half defense) ultimately proved to be too much for the visitors to overcome.

The Cavaliers were red hot from long range in the first half and used that sharpshooting to hold a 36-31 advantage at the break. The aforementioned combination of Price and Scott contributed 18 points to the Indians cause and was a harbinger of things to come.

The second half saw Hillsboro outscore Chillicothe by a count of 36-21 including the telltale 4th period where Hillsboro clinched the game with an 18-8 run.

The Indians were led by three double digit scorers: Ryan Scott with 22, Hunter Price 21, and Jakwon Clark 10. Price, for defensive toughness, relentless rebounding, and scoring was named the WSRW "player of the game."

Miles Burton, head coach of the Indians, was elated with the overall effort and performance from his charges. He was particularly was pleased with the positive way the team handled themselves down the crucial stretch in the fourth quarter. The Indians, now at (2-1/6-2), will travel to Fairfield for a Tuesday evening encounter.
