Wastewater Plant Renovation One of Chillicothe's Biggest Current Projects

One of the City of Chillicothe's biggest infrastructure project price tags on the horizon is the renovation of the wastewater treatment plant off Renick Avenue. Mayor Luke Feeney says the overall project cost could run up to $25 million...

Mayor Feeney says several "stop-gap" pieces of equipment have been needed in the interim, including a generator at the cost of $750,000. The generator could also be used at other sites in the city, if needed.

Feeney says the actual construction is still a year away.

The mayor says the Renick Avenue treatment plant is approximately 75-years-old and is long past due for replacement or renovation. The plans have been a couple of years in the planning.
