First Member of PGA Tour Tests Positive For Coronavirus

(Hilton Head, SC) -- The first member of the PGA Tour has tested positive for COVID-19. Nick Watney withdrew before his afternoon tee time Friday after finding out he tested positive for coronavirus.

The 39-year-old pro indicated before the HBC Heritage that he had symptoms consistent with the virus. He consulted with a doctor who tested him and the results were positive.

The tour said he traveled privately to South Carolina and was not on the tour-sponsored flight from last week's event in Texas. Watney is a five-time winner on the PGA Tour.
