Paints Triumph Over Miners 9-6

The Chillicothe Paints took on the West Virginia Miners Saturday evening, in West Virginia. In a game that took 2 hours 50 minutes, the Paints defeated the Miners 9-6.

The Miners were the first to score, bringing home one run in the bottom of the 2nd. The Paints brought one runner home in the 3rd, and neither team scored in the 4th. The Paints extended their lead by adding two more in the 5th, to lead the Miners 3-1. The Paints were able to bring another five runners across home plate in the 6th, with the Miners only bring home one. Both teams added one run in the 7th inning. The Miners tried their best to catch up, bringing three more runners home in the bottom of the 8th. Neither team could cross home in the 9th, making the final score 9-6 in favor of the Paints. 

The Chillicothe Paints (14-8-0) will play the West Virginia Miners (11-11-0) again Sunday at the Linda K. Epling Stadium in Beckley, West Virginia, with first pitch at 5:05 PM.

In other games, Springfield took down Terre Haute 6-5, Champion City defeated Quincy 9-4, Butler topped Kokomo 5-3 and Lafayette beat Danville 9-1.
