For the first time in almost a century, the village of Frankfort does not have a full-service grocery store. Owner Terry DeGarmo closed the door for the final time at the Frankfort IGA Friday night.
His Bainbridge IGA closed earlier this summer.
Clear Channel News has been told the owner of several other area grocery and convenient stores is negotiating to buy the Frankfort IGA, but no word as to when, or if that sale would be completed.
There has been no word on whether anyone has interest in buying the Bainbridge IGA.
Frankfort does continue to have a convenient store, in the Main & High Shortstop.
