Carlisle Restoration in Motion

Carlisle Restoration in Motion
Posted August 14th, 2014 @ 7:12pm

If you've driven past the Carlisle Building recently, you may have noticed crews working to get the landmark restored to its former glory. Mike Chelser, of the Chesler Group, said they first had to stabilize the building and demolish certain parts of it that were no longer needed. Since then, they've moved onto other work.

"We will tuck-point the entire exterior of the building, and then we'll rebuild the walls in the back, rebuild all the bearing walls on the inside," said Chesler, "and once that's done, right around when the snow flies, we'll begin Phase 2, which is really the rebuilding of the interior."

Once fully restored, Adena Health Systems will occupy the building, leasing the first floor for business operations and the upper floors as apartments for physician residents and medical students.

In February, Adena Health System signed a 15-year lease agreement with the Chesler Group, putting into motion the $7-million restoration project.

Chesler anticipates all work to be completed in Fall 2015.
