As motorists are quickly learning with the melting of snow and ice, the harsh winter weather has taken a drastic toll on area roads. Potholes are everywhere, which means they will have to be filled.

The expense of road salt along with snow removal and now the need to patch the potholes will take a toll on the county engineer's budget.

Ross County Commissioner Steve Neal says it's possible the engineer might have to delay some of the summer projects, due to winter dipping deeper than normal into available funds.
