Three people have been arrested in SciotoCounty on accusations that they severely abused four children.

Sheriff Marty Donini says the case came to light when one of the children e-mailed a teacher at an online school asking her to call 911. Investigators say the children were chained to their beds for weeks at a time. They also were beaten with paddles and belts and sometimes left without food.

The children have been removed from the Wheelersburg home they shared with three adults.

The children told investigators they were only untied from their beds long enough to do school work on the computer. Two of the children claimed they were sexually assaulted. Scars and other injuries were found on the children's bodies. They were first taken to a hospital in Cincinnati and then taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.

Juan Carlos Sanchez, 44, is charged with three counts of child endangerment and two counts of rape. The Virgin Islands native is being held on a $1 million bond. He was apparently living at the home.

Edwina Louis, 52, is charged with three counts of child endangerment. She's the children's grandmother. The children's mother, Bobbi Sue Pack, 31, is also charged with three counts of child endangerment. Both are in jail on $150,000 bonds.

Authorities are still searching for Leah Dillon, 24. She apparently fled from the area.
