Waverly Village Council held their bi-monthly meeting Tuesday night, where the main topic of discussion was the Monday night fire at the Emmitt House. It is truly a tragic loss to the Waverly downtown area, according to village officials who spoke about it. Many came out to fight the blaze in sub-zero temperatures.

The mayor called these actions "truly heroic". Not much is known as to what will happen to the area where Emmitt House stood, but there are high hopes that the building will be revitalized in the future. The remains of the structure were demolished by wrecking crews Tuesday.

Other issues raised were the delay of direct deposit for city workers, solutions to a feral cat problem in the area, and a new vehicle purchase for city employees.
