Two Pike County residents are facing multiple charges following an armed stand-off with officers of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
According to Pike County Sheriff, Charles Reader, deputies from his office were dispatched to an address in the 100-block of Darst Road shortly before 7:00 p.m. Monday in regards to a Domestic Complaint.
On arrival at the scene, officers were confronted by Kevin Jenkins, who was armed with a loaded .380 caliber pistol. Jenkins continually refused to comply with the directions of deputies and, still armed, reentered the home. Due to the volatile nature of the situation, multiple officers were able to subdue Jenkins and remove the weapon from his possession.
Following the arrest, officers were granted permission to search the home where they located unspecified drugs and drug assembly materials.
Mr. Jenkins, and a female inside the home identified as Ashley Prater, were each arrested on multiple charges including Domestic Violence, Obstruction, Resisting Arrest, Assault on a Peace Officer, Illegal Manufacturing of Drugs, and Endangering Children.
