Most every Ross County community has scheduled Trick or Treat this year for this Thursday evening.

Sheriff George Lavender says this is helpful for many reasons. It gives the Sheriff's Department the ability to bring the patrol resources together and get everyone out to the villages and make sure they have a presence in the communities.

Sheriff George Lavender says parents should make sure their children take precautions due to the expected weather and visibility.

Lavender adds if you want trick or treaters the best thing to do is to light your property up so the kids don't fall over tripping hazards and are able to use caution coming to your house. It also allows motorists to see the edge of your driveway.

Lavender also urges parents to make sure their kids are dressed in safe costumes that eliminates the chance of tripping or limits their visability.

Trick or Treat is from 6:00 to 7:30pm Thursday evening.
