Chillicothe's Info To Go

Scioto Valley Habitat for Humanity

Posted July 18th, 2014 @ 7:22am

Scioto Valley Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for a home to be built in Clarksburg next year.

"They have to live in sub-standard or crowded conditions, the adults in the family have to contribute 200 sweat equity hours, and they have to be able to repay the mortgage," said Dottie Molebash.

The local chapter, in place since 1993, has built 30 homes to date.

An open house will be held from noon to 3pm, Saturday, at Habitat's new location at 171 East Fifth Street in Chillicothe. Members will be on hand to discuss the application process and provide information for those interested in becoming a volunteer.
