Chillicothe City School Superintendent Jon Saxton was among education administrators lobbying state lawmakers this week on changes to the education funding formula.
Saxton says changes in tax laws in recent years, has been detrimential to Chillicothe School System.
Saxton says they also have a high number of students that are impacted by poverty, with 65% of the the student body getting free or reduced lunches.
In a related note, a state House committee has approved a proposal to allow school districts take up to four additional weather-related days off this year.
The full House and Senate still needs to vote on the measure. Many school districts have already exhausted their five allowable days off for snow or bad weather.
