The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced a major construction project on State Route 435 near I-71 in Jeffersonville. The project will replace concrete pavement and install new drainage on all lanes of SR 435 east and west of Interstate 71. The project is scheduled to start next month and work will continue through November. Both directions of SR 435 will be pushed over to the westbound side with a crossover. All exits will remain open with reduced width.
IMPACT TO DRIVERS: Both directions of SR 435 will be pushed over to the westbound side. This means the contractor will be working on SR 435 east. There will be one lane for eastbound, and one lane for westbound traffic.Crossover: Begins on west side at the Pay Lake. Concrete where the median used to be is how eastbound traffic will get over to the westbound side. Both directions will travel on the westbound side past I-71, the outlet mall and eastbound traffic will not cross back over until after the True North service station. This traffic pattern will be in place from March to June, weather permitting. Then from June to November, SR 435 traffic will be on the new eastbound lanes while the pavement is constructed on the westbound side.Drivers should allow extra time to travel in the area since SR 435 will be reduced to one lane in each direction, instead of two. All exits are open, but reduced in width.Intersection of SR 435 and Allen Road (east of I-71): Allen Road will be restricted to one lane southbound and two lanes northbound from March to June.
