A Ross County Grand Jury indicted a pair of Columbus men on charges stemming from a search of a Chillicothe home. According to Rick Hannan, an investigator with the Prosecutor's Office, authorities served a consent search at 348 East Second Street on December 18, 2013, following a complaint of drug trafficking and found 5.76 grams of heroin and 12.1 grams of cocaine inside.

32-year-old Tywand Anderson was found with a 9-mm handgun and $140 cash, while 35-year-old Terrance Collins was found with $1,708 cash, according to Hannan.

Both have been indicted for possession of cocaine and heroin, while Anderson faces an additional charge of having weapons under disability.

Other indictments include:

*25-year-old Lamar Howell, of Chillicothe, for possession of cocaine, aggravated possession of drugs, and tampering with evidence, and 22-year-old Shantel Mayle, of Columbus, for illegal use of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits or WIC program benefits. Hannan said the indictment alleges police searched 165 North Sugar Street on February 6th, 2014, following a report of a stabbing, found Howell in the home, which contained 35.2 grams of cocaine, and that Howell tossed a measuring cup into the basement. Also in the home was 22-year-old Shantel Mayle, who reportedly gave a false name and allowed authorities to search her belongings, which contained an Ohio Direction card not belonging to her. Hannan said the stabbing victim did not want to pursue charges.

*56-year-old David Smith, of Chillicothe, for tampering with evidence and possession of cocaine. The indictment charges that Smith was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for committing traffic violations along US 32 on January 30th, 2014, appeared to be hiding something in his mouth, would not spit it out, and had to be subdued by a taser after a struggle ensued, according to Hannan. Authorities allegedly then found a wet baggie of 0.03 grams of cocaine on the ground nearby.

*33-year-old Kelly Brown, of Chillicothe, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. According to Hannan, Brown is accused of taking another person's vehicle on September 22nd, 2013, driving 85 mph in a 55 zone along Old US 35, turning onto a dirt road, and abandoning the vehicle.
