Pickaway County Treasurer Ellery Elick says he held a tax lien sale in the fourth quarter of last year, which included $1.4 million in eligible properties. This resulted in the reduction of the county's outstanding deliquency by 26-percent.
Elick says every delinquent dollar collected was placed back into the general fund. He says Pickaway County is looking into conducting a spring tax lien sale in May or June.
Elick says the county plans to hold another tax lien sale in May or June; however, there is a possibility of a state lawmaker who is trying to circumvent counties from doing tax certificate sales to third-party vendors.
