A two month internal investigation has led to the firing of The Ohio State University director of its marching band.

Johnathon Waters, 38, was fired when the school conducted an internal investigation and discovered some unsettling news.

The Columbus Dispatch reported that students routinely harassed one another, often it was the older students to new band members and that director Waters either knew or should have known.

Ohio State President Michael Drake said that within the internal investigation they found, "very serious cultural issues and an environment conducive to sexual harassment within the band."

Drake says, "we will move forward with the marching band season and launch a search for a permanent director now."

In 2012 Waters took over the band. Following director of 25 years, Jon Woods.
