Help Coming for Ailing Ohio Bridges

Help Coming for Ailing Ohio Bridges

A one time shot in the arm of funding will help county engineers around Ohio take care of some of their most dangerous bridges.

Ohio has 44-thousand bridges, second highest in the nation to only Texas. Some of the worst will be either repaired or replaced.

ODOT Director Jerry Wray says the state is getting $71 million in federal money that was slated for other states. There is also some money coming from efficiencies at the department.

Wray says the projects will benefit Ohioans for decades to come.
