A few months ago, there was a concern from Ross County Commissioners that some of the summer paving schedule might have to be cut, due to the high expense of snow removal.

But, Ross County Commissioner Steve Neal now says the good news is there won't be the cuts feared. Despite a very tough and expensive winter of snow removal, county commissioners Doug Corcoran and Steve Neal says engineer Charlie Ortman used some resourcefulness in saving money that could be used to keep their paving schedule intact.

Ortman is actually going to do some extra paving, including drag patching. Part of the "Gas Tax, and Motor License Tax," help pay for the work.

Many of Ortman's employees agreed to take "comp time" instead of overtime due to the winter emergency, which saved the county big dollars.
