Common Core standards in education is making more news almost daily, and the number of complaints from parents and educators is filtering up to the Ohio Legislature.

State Senator Bob Peterson believes the basic concept is good, but that current requirements are probably "over-testing" students and may be taking some of the enthusiasm out of the classroom.

State Representative Gary Scherer has been to several seminars specifically on Common Core and has talked with a lot of school administrators who are studying it, working at it and perhaps modifying it, but not throwing it out completely.
