Council member Tom Spring reported on the start of the "Charter Commission" after their swearing-in June 5th. Past Mayor Jean Droste is chairing it.
He said there are many other forms of city government to choose from, aside from the current basic form.
The issue was approved in the spring election, and commission members will look at possible new versions of governance.
Commission meetings will start off on the 2nd and 4th Monday of July, and they have a year to draft a charter to for voters to say yea or nay.
Council also approved a new contract to consolidate Information Technology among city departments.
They also heard about Time Warner changing their cable signal to digital, which means older televisions need a converter.
