Chillicothe Mayor Jack Everson says he has done his best in trying to work with Police Chief Roger Moore over issues involving the chief in the last several months.
"Things changed on July 25th in my office, though," said Everson. "Never before had there been overt insubordination where he refused to carry out a work assignment."
Mayor Everson was referring to letters of apology he ordered Chief Moore to write to Ross County George Lavender and Chillicothe City Schools Superintendent Jon Saxton.
The Mayor said he cannot allow insubordination.
"That's a line you simply do not cross," said Everson. "I lose complete control when that happens and allow that to happen, and I will not - I will not allow that to happen."
The chief had a pre-disciplinary hearing Monday, which gave Moore a chance to respond to the complaints against him to determine if disciplinary action should be taken against him.
A decision could come within the next week.
