An anonymous tip from residents has led to the seizure of close to 150 Marijuana Plants in southern Ross County. Deputies received information about the location of the plants Wednesday evening and worked well into the night recovering them.
The plants are estimated to have a street value of approximately $150,000.00. During the recovery of the Marijuana the Sheriff’s Office newest K-9 (Big Mac) played an instrumental role in the search.
Sheriff Lavender wishes to thank those community partners that made it possible for his office to obtain the two K-9 Units that are currently in service for the Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the discovery so no further details are being released at this time.
Sheriff Lavender again encourages residents to report suspected drug activity to his office at 740-773-1185, Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers at 740-773-TIPS (8477), or the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force at 740-775-1208.
The discovery of these drugs may not have been possible without the tip.
