The 10th Aaron Reed Memorial Event hosted a blood drive conducted by the Armed Forces Blood Program. Andrew Powell told Dan Ramey more about the program and how they were helping Saturday.
Becky Barnhart, adviser for the Ruff-N-Tuff 4H Club says this is the 9th Memorial Event they've participated in. Cinque Gibson and Grant Smith talk about their participation in working the canteen for the blood drive.
The event has raised funds for 46 scholarships awarded to Southeastern High School students the last 10 years. Senior Janie Hess talks about her hopes to receive a scholarship. 2009 SEHS graduate Josh Cartee, currently in law school at Ohio State was a received a scholarship upon graduation and Sara Duvall, Aaron Reed's mother talk about the importance of the event. Duvall adds why it's time to remove her son's name from the event.
Reed's high school buddies Ben and Jamie Barker talk about the purpose for the Veterans Awareness event and noted the reason this is the final year for Reed's name would be associated with the event. Cole Barker was there for the bouncy house!
Mike Short lined up the entertainment for the event. Short says there's a never ending offer of donated time by musicians for the full day of play and entertainment at the Elks Lodge.
